Xan does have wings, although they're not mechanical like this--I was just being artsy. All the members of his race have wings...and through some miraculous process, they're able to retract their wings into their bodies, and extend them at will. Xan, like all members of his race, is very slight and light-boned, which makes it easier for them to fly. Of course, Xan wishes he'd never been born with wings...but I can't tell you why cuz that'd be a spoiler...! (I promise you, though, that the story won't be over-loaded with angst. I HATE when people do that. Grrrr.) |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. And even though they're quite different, the wings remind me of Clover by CLAMP. It's just teh way there's a little swirl in the mechanical part with individual feathers sticking out of it and mechanical curves.... *shrugs* IT just does...
